Here, just for you, is my newest collection of Lovebeads -- a must for all your Summer entertainments, special occasions, loving tokens or Just Because you saw it and it “spoke to you.

You’ll find all my newest designs for the season below. I’ve used semiprecious gem beads, the last of my dwindling cache of pre-ban Ivory (sad, but true; it’s a thing of the past) seashells, pearls, an array of Czech beads, Swarovski crystals and enamels to enhance any ensemble.

I have found the most wonderful and unique beads and pendants in the world for you. Please have a look below and see if anything speaks to you. If you see a piece that was meant for you or your special lady, I promise, you'll know immediately.

1. 2 Strand Faceted Needle Quartz Nugget Choker

A glorious necklace of golden needle quartz for all your gala occasions, this one’s a showstopper.  These faceted beads measure 1 inch long by one half inch wide and they are beautifully faceted. I’ve added a few silver beads and crystals for extra zing, but these beads say it all. Impressive! Finished with a Sterling oversized French clasp. 19” and 22.5” long.

$195.00

2. Rainbow Sardonyx, Citrine Choker

Nice big faceted rounds of amazing Rainbow Sardonyx (no two exactly alike) in colors of red, bands of orange and black marry nicely with fat faceted rondelles of Citrine; also we find Whiskey Quartz, green Quartz, Czech beads and leaves and Swarovski crystals. This one’s a show-stopper. 20” long.

$165.00

3. 2 Strand Turquoise, Sardonyx Squares

A wonderful, breezy necklace, easy to wear, really effortless chic (I’d pair it with summer linens or a sleek black dinner dress.) I’ve used 2 kinds of turquoise beads here—the real thing in a round bead on the longer strand, and to my eye the perfect shade of turquoise blue bead in rice shaped Czech glass. Then some delicate, carved bone beads, wonderful little black, white and khaki sardonyx rounds and larger squares of black and white Sardonyx. Lots of silver, clear and new-leaf green glass beads give it sparkle. It’s great worn long, or doubled as a choker.  32” and 34.5” long.

$200.00

4.The Heaven & Earth Necklace

As many of you already know, I am mad for all things Asian and in this piece I’ve tried to capture the most beautiful rendition of the colors of my favorite Orientals. It’s so wearable—this with a simple ensemble in black or white is spectacular for the summer season and with your silk velvets, you’ve got winter covered too. The gemstones are green and soft brown Aventurine, Yellow,  Celedon and Red  Jade, Green Turquoise, African Turquoise, yellow Crabfire Agate, red Sardonyx, faceted black Onyx, China Cloisonné, a center focal bead of faceted Chinese Red Quartz and a few Czech beads.  26” long.

 $125.00

5. Rhyolite with Green Amethyst Pendant

These large green Rhyolite orbs are so earthy and beautiful! This is an earth goddess necklace for sure. Here they are put alongside smaller rounds of Tiger Jasper, faceted black Onyx, bronze freshwater Pearls, Turquoise heishi beads, and a few Swarovski crystals for sparkle. Finished with an ornate, Sterling Silver pendant of faceted Green Amethyst.  20” long.

$165.00

8.Amazonite, Smokey Quartz Choker

One of my favorite combinations to wear with cream colored clothes is this dreamy blue Amazonite paired with the taupe brown of Snakeskin Jasper, Fire Agate and Smokey Quartz. I waited for weeks for the faceted Smokey Quartz focal bead to arrive from China and when it did I let out a yelp when I saw it. I’ve added lots of Sterling Silver beads and bead caps and, as an accent, some Swarovski crystal bicones in Fuchsia Volcano that give the piece Zing!   21.75” long.

$120.00

9. Pink Coral, Pearl, Lemon Chrysoprase, Jasper

A wonderful mysterious globe of Wood Jasper, with big pink Freshwater Pearls, faceted Smoky Quartz, Lemon-Lime Chrysoprase barrels, turquoise Picasso beads, Czech leaves with my signature Silver heart toggle. 19.5" long

$100.00

10. Long Lavender Blue Multi

This graceful, very very long necklace is nice doubled or tripled so that’s the way I’ve pictured it here. It’s in beautiful pastel tones of blue and lavender to portray the earliest moments of sunrise when you can still see the moon. I’ve used faceted Ametrine, Amethyst and Czech faceted crystals in purple and cornflower blue, faceted Seafoam Chalcedony, pale blue Amazonite side by side my new bone beads (I call them Almost Ivory), palest lavender freshwater Pearls, my beautiful White Honey Jade (the moon), a carved Fluorite pumpkin bead, some Turquoise and sparkly  Swarovski Crystals. 58” long.

$110.00

11. Green Amethyst, Ametrine, Black Pearls with  Silver Beads

Here is a dream of a necklace in 8mm celadon green Jade and pale green faceted Prehinite, also known as Green Amethyst. Also, there are rondelles of faceted lavender Ametrine and 5mm black freshwater Pearls. What makes this necklace so special is the major presence of large embellished square Sterling Silver pillow beads and the beautiful, finely worked Silver pendant of AAA faceted Green Amethyst.  19” long.

$150.00

12.  Green Quartz, Smokey Quartz w/Gold Pyrite Pendant

I’ve recently discovered Gold Pyrite. I love it—it’s a deep silver color with a hint of gold to it. This necklace is done in various shades of olive-y Green faceted Quartz and Smokey Quartz to harmonize with it. There are also small rondelles of finely faceted Lemon Quartz and along with the faceted Gold Pyrite, some faceted Hematite to provide a darker charcoal gray color. The pendant is Sterling Silver with a rough-hewn piece of the Gold Pyrite, a Smokey Quartz oval and a pear-shaped Lemon Quartz gemstone.  19” long.

                                                                                        $145.00

13. Africa Turquoise, Smokey Quartz with Pearls (SOLD)

Here is one of my newest finds, it’s called Africa Turquoise and it’s just fantastic—wait till you see it. The color is a bit deeper and more teal in color, with nice tan striations. I’ve put it with the palest pinky-lavender freshwater Pearls, and black peacock Pearls, faceted Smokey Quartz and Swarovski crystal rondelles. The Sterling pendant measures 2.5” and contains a large lavender Pearl, a faceted marquise cut Smokey Quartz, a big faceted White Topaz and a pear shaped Paua shell. 20” long.

Still my favorite style, here’s a long necklace of carved Jasper in gorgeous earthy tones, some square Gold Pyrite, faceted Golden Needle Quartz, lots of Lemon Quartz in faceted rondelles and flat rounds, Olive Jade, bronze Freshwater Pearls, faceted Smokey Quartz and lots of Sparkly Swarovski crystals and tiny hematite colored seed beads and Czech leaves. Understated and very beautiful. Wear long or doubled.   44 “ long.

 $100.00

15.Ivory, Apple Green Jade, Pink Chalcedony with Pink Quartz Pendant

Dizzyingly pretty combination of the green Jade, vintage pre-ban Ivory beads (yes, the real thing, in fantastic condition; I found them online and took apart the necklace to salvage these beads. Once they're gone, they're gone.) Also, beautiful translucent pink Chalcedony, finished with a faceted pendant of pale Pink Quartz, set in Sterling Silver. Wow! I love this necklace.  19.5" long.

$285.00

16.Black Onyx, Carved White Coral, Aqua Quartz -

Lovely and minimalist, I'm a fan of the drama of stark black and white with the subtle interest of carving on the white Coral and large faceting on the Onyx. There are black and silver Swarovski crystal rondelles scattered throughout for a bit of sparkle and a fascinating large faceted Aqua Quartz rondelle center stone. Simply beautiful.   19.5" long.

20. The "Somebody Stop Me!" Necklace  (SOLD)

In a fit of probable temporary insanity, I took apart a gorgeous deep Granny Smith Apple green Chrysoprase necklace of mine; also a fantastic large faceted Ametrine bead necklace from my own collection and put the beads with some vintage blue cloisonné, Sterling Silver spacers, Swarovski crystal rondelles and faceted black Onyx (which alas, you can't really see in the photo, but you will see in person.) I made a double strand necklace so pretty and eye-popping that I just thought I'd go ahead and add a wonderful pale Pink Quartz pendant. Like I said, "Somebody stop me!" If this keeps up, everyone will be wearing my beads but me!  21" long.

 $250.00

21.  Rainbow Sardonyx, Cat’s Eye (SOLD)

Rainbow Sardonyx is a new stone for me, but I’m just fascinated with it. The colors are spectacular, and once again, I’m not sure my photo is really doing this necklace justice, but wait till you get it home! No two of these ovals are alike; they are black, a deep brick red, shades of brown—you’re going to love them! I’ve put them together in this one with smaller pumpkins of red Onyx, faceted Cat’s Eye, ornate Bali Vermeil rondelles, Mandarin Garnet rondelles and Swarovski crystals.  21.5” long.

$135.00

22. Copal Amber with Faceted Seafoam Chalcedony Pendant

Gorgeous 20X15mm vintage copal amber barrels make a stunning neckpiece, with a few interesting fancy Sterling Silver beads and a 30mm centerpiece of cooling blue-green faceted Chalcedony.  I've always loved amber and this necklace is a beauty! 19.5" long.

$195.00
23. The Long & The Short

Just for fun I put the two necklaces described earlier together to show a layered look that is so versatile. Obviously, either necklace can be worn separately, but the longer of the two can be worn long, doubled or, in the case of our slender friends out there, tripled as well. This is a wonderful look which can go casual or dressed up with equal ease.  19” and 44” long.

$100 Long

$145 Short

24. Aqua Quartz, Amethyst, Coin Pearl, Smokey Quartz with Multi-Gem Pendant

Faceted rounds of Aqua Quartz, faceted Amethyst rondelles, large creamy freshwater coin Pearls, faceted Smokey Quartz rounds (which you can't make out well in the photo but which are a lovely rich shade in person) a sprinkling of Czech beads and Swarovski crystals, finished with a gorgeous Sterling pendant containing Smokey browns this season!  I've done a couple of necklaces featuring these colors so be sure to look at the other variations on the webpage.  19" long.

25. Pastels with Blue Topaz Pendant

Just lovely for spring, this one has faceted Colored Quartz that puts off a shimmering rainbow of pastel colors; also faceted Aqua Quartz, carved apple green Jade, pink Freshwater Pearls, Peridot rondelles and a few Czech beads, leaves and sparkly Swarovski crystals.  The Sterling Silver pendant has a large Blue Topaz surrounded by sizzley Sterling Silver offshoots ending in faceted gems of Citrine, Peridot and a lavender Pearl.  18.5” long.

$135.00

26. The Sakuran

This was inspired by a fantastic Japanese movie I saw recently starring Masanobu Ando and Masatoshi Nagase (love them!) The film was just an ultra hip riot of fabulous color and so when I saw these wonderful Fire Agate beads an idea for a design took shape in a flash. In addition to the Agates, there are big rounds of Honey Jade and yellow Crab Fire Agate, finely faceted Citrines, Black Onyx rondelles, black Swarovski crystal rondelles, finished with a Sterling Silver pendant of Rutilated Quartz and Lemon Quartz. 19.25” long.

$150.00

27.Ivory Moonface with Lavender Pearls

Here is an eclectic blend of beads in a more petite necklace that I think is suitable for a young girl or more petite woman. The palest Lavender-Pink Freshwater Pearls combine with dark gray peacock Pearls, Czech glass pansy and leaf beads, beautiful faceted Colored Quartz, a few faceted Ametrine rondelles and sparkly Swarovski crystals. The pendant is Sterling Silver and has a hand carved Ivory moonface from Bali, an oblong Green Quartz gem, a large lavender Pearl and an Amethyst.  18” long.

$125.00

30. The Sherwood Forest Choker

Why does this necklace remind me of Robin Hood’s famous leafy refuge? No idea, it just came to me! There is something kind of romantic about it though—maybe you’ll see it too: Big vintage Czech faceted crystal beads in the most gorgeous shade of cognac, Olive Jade, faceted Smokey Quartz and Lemon Quartz in rounds and rondelles, a few fire-polished Czech beads and leaves and some black and topaz colored Swarovski crystal rondelles for sparkle. The focal bead is Rutilated Quartz. (I told you I’m dotty for it, now you see I wasn’t kidding!)  21.5” Long.

 $110.00

31. White Turquoise with Antique Zuni Turquoise Heart Pendant (SOLD)

A power piece if there ever was one. Fantastic multi-striated white Turquoise in big rounds mixed with a few interesting ornate Sterling Silver beads. The real eye-grabber is the Turquoise heart pendant, which I found in the Southwest. It’s old and the blue-green color (my favorite) is superb. An incredible one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry! Who’s feeling lucky?  18.25”long.

 $350.00

32. Ametine, Czech Bead Ivory w/ Shell Pendant (SOLD)

Well, here’s our revenge, and the good news is that ~this~ blonde will never fade, dry out or require a multi-hundred dollar touch up—she’s eternal. Pale yellow rounds of Honey Jade and a new bead I’ve just found—it’s called White Honey Jade and it’s faintly banded. It reminds me of the moon and it’s gorgeous! Also, some Tiger Jasper, Rutilated Quartz and another new find, finely cut and faceted crystal beads in pale champagne. A few of my new favorite faux-Ivory bone beads, luster leaves and sparkly Swarovski crystals and finished with an especially pretty Sterling Silver pendant featuring Yellow Lace Agate.  21” long.

38.Smoky Quartz, Golden Quartz, Cloisonne Choker

I loved this design so much I made a longer variation of it for myself as well. And then I made one for Shana! The rich, dark faceted Smoky Quartz barrels are the nicest I've ever seen. And I'm in love with the Golden Quartz! It's a new find for me and I can't get enough of it. 18.5" long

 $130.00

39. Sort-Of South By Southwest

Shana and I keep threatening to go to the famous SXSW music festival in Austin, TX, where I still have a few relatives, to hang out, scope out co-writers for her and generally cause trouble. 45.Jasper For (Real!) Men

I’ve been wracking my brain for weeks trying to come up with a name for my beads for men; Shana suggested ManBeads, but call me crazy, I had a good laugh and passed on that one. The nearest I’ve gotten so far is“The Beaded Neck Chain” which isn’t exactly it either, so if you have a good suggestion, email me quick! Anyway, here’s a good representation of the genre—I’ve used lots of small (nothing over 8mm) Jaspers, Jade and Rhyolite in a nice configuration with central focal beads of Bronzite and gold Pyrite. I don’t think my photo has really captured the beautiful, subtle colors of the stones, so this is one that will be a pleasant surprise to get up close and personal with. 24” long.

If you’re seeing this on the website before the Winter ’09 holiday season then it’s because I just couldn’t wait to show it—It was exciting to work on and see come together because I just kept adding more and more sparkly faceted beads and Swarovski crystal rondelles to the mix and the result is very festive indeed. 52. The Rhyolite Choker

A great, any time, anywhere necklace of green and gold toned Forest Rhyolite, heavenly faceted Sleeping Beauty Turquoise, some black and white Sardonyx rondelles, barrels of African Turquoise and my new find (therefore, my new passion!) really terrific ivory-colored bone beads. [A Slight Digression: as you all must know, from reading about it on my site, real Ivory beads are a thing of the past. It’s sad, even though I guess it makes sense, to ban the sale of even old, pre-ban re-purposed beads on the assumption that using them still creates a market for new Ivory somehow or other. So I can no longer get Ivory, but these new bone beads I’ve found are beautiful, they look like Ivory and I’m thrilled to bring them to you! Have a look and see if you don’t agree.] Back to the necklace: it’s 21” long.

$95.00

The faceted Quartz is shot through with needles of bronzey gold, there are fine, faceted crystal beads in the palest champagne color, black and white Sardonyx rondelles and multi-neutral-color rounds, bronze freshwater Pearls, finished with a Sterling Silver pendant of, what else, my almost-signature, “everybody-needs-this” Rutilated Quartz, a bronze Pearl, faceted Lemón Quartz and Smokey Quartz.  21” long.

$145.00

58.The Venetian

Here is a lovely mixture of textures and colors, so right for the season, with just a hint of sparkle: nice large White Turquoise rounds, fat, etched Black Onyx rondelles, faceted Citrines, the last few of my Mom's faceted jet beads from an old choker I inherited (as mentioned earlier, I really am incorrigible. I can't help myself. Sometimes my own collection is the only place I can find what I need.) I'm not sure where the sparkly bronzy beads hail from but they look like   old Venetian trade beads to me, hence I call this one "The Venetian."  21.5" long.

About The Stones in My Jewelry

This little bit of info has been awhile in coming, but I’ve long wanted to include something which you can refer to either to find out more about why you seem drawn to a particular stone at any given time, OR to find a stone which may enhance, heal or generally give protection to you in a variety of circumstances for a variety of reasons. Remember: gemstones are ancient and in every corner of the world were believed to protect, enhance and provide healing to the wearer for a lot longer than we can possibly imagine.
